Lift the Mining 'Ban' in Wisconsin

Lifting the Mining 'Ban' Will Create Jobs and Help the Wisconsin Economy.

Support America's Domestic Mining Industry

An estimated 5,000 new jobs would be created in Wisconsin with the passing of SB-488, which would allow the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to issue a permit to mine iron ore.

The current Assembly bill creates new statutes for regulating iron mining and modifies the current laws regulating metallic mining so that they cover only mining for non-ferrous minerals. What that means for you is more jobs and economic benefit for Wisconsinites.

Take action and urge your legislators to spur job and economic growth in Wisconsin by lifting the mining 'ban'.

Subject: CREATE NEW JOBS BY ALLOWING NEW MINING PERMITS
Dear Senator/Representative:

I am writing to urge you to support Senate Bill 488, recognizing the difference between iron ore and sulfide mining in Wisconsin’s regulations. The bill allows for the appropriate and necessary changes to provide certainty in the permitting process for iron mining activities. Wisconsin's overreaching mining regulations have resulted in no new mining permits for over 20 years, and is preventing thousands of Wisconsites from working and hurting Wisconsin’s economy.

Wisconsin is home to an abundance of untapped mining resources that can bring a broad range of benefits to the nation and the state. I urge you to support SB 488 to create jobs in our state.

Thank you,

Sincerely,
